Board Empowerment Task Force (2024)

The Challenge

Springfield Chamber Board members regularly advocate for Chamber membership within their professional networks. While each understood the value of the organization, many wanted a more consistent and effective way to communicate that value in conversations with prospective members.

The Approach

Working alongside a Board task force composed of business and community leaders, as well as Chamber staff, I helped facilitate the development of a clear messaging framework that articulated the Chamber's purpose, value, and member benefits. Through collaborative discussion and refinement, we distilled a broad range of ideas into language that Board members could confidently adapt to their own voices and relationships.

My Role

I translated the group's strategic discussions into a cohesive communications toolkit, developing messaging, visual materials, and supporting resources that aligned with the Chamber's brand and membership goals. My work included messaging development, content strategy, copywriting, graphic design, and production of printed and digital materials for Board use.

The Outcome

The final packet equipped Board members with a shared communication framework that made conversations with prospective members more consistent, confident, efficient, and aligned with the Chamber's brand. Rather than providing a scripted pitch, the materials helped leaders communicate the Chamber's value in an authentic, conversational way.
