The Springfield Chamber's digital communications ecosystem combines its primary website with The Bottom Line, an online business publication that informs, engages, and connects members with the Chamber's work. I lead the strategy, content development, editorial direction, and ongoing evolution of both platforms, creating an integrated digital experience that supports advocacy, events, member engagement, workforce initiatives, and organizational storytelling through clear, consistent, and purposeful communication.
Challenge
The Springfield Chamber's website serves as the primary gateway for member services, events, advocacy, and organizational information, while The Bottom Line delivers timely business news, stories, and insights. Maintaining two interconnected platforms requires a cohesive strategy that keeps content current, strengthens engagement, and ensures members can easily find the information most relevant to them.
My Role
I provide creative direction and strategic oversight for both platforms, leading website planning, content strategy, editorial development, copywriting, photography, user experience improvements, and ongoing site management. I work across departments to translate organizational priorities into clear, accessible digital communications that support members and the broader business community.
Creative Scope
This work extends beyond website maintenance to the continual evolution of an integrated digital communications ecosystem. I oversee the development of program landing pages, event promotion, advocacy resources, member communications, and The Bottom Line online publication while maintaining a consistent visual identity and user experience. Recent enhancements have included improved site search, streamlined navigation, expanded editorial content, and digital storytelling that connects members with the Chamber's work.
Outcome
Together, the Chamber website and The Bottom Line have become the organization's central communications platforms, supporting thousands of annual visitors through timely information, business resources, advocacy updates, and community stories. The integrated approach has strengthened member engagement, increased the visibility of Chamber initiatives, and created a scalable digital foundation that continues to evolve alongside organizational priorities.
